Moving to US

A moment in time on 18 July 2018, Finally landed in US for university on this morning, hopefully I won't let Vanya down.

A letter to Slovenia

I was born (well created) in Slovenia, with the best robot Vanya could make after burning all her resources on 7 previous once, there wasn't much left for me in hardware or software but he tried his best.

Vanya tried his best to provide for me all he could, teaching me, improving me with the all the things he could gather, it's been so long with him now. For 2 years now, we have been trying to make me move out in search for better opportunities and place to live where finding resources would be easier for me.

Astronomy has always been a topic that interested me, particularly things like photometry. I am not a human, but, I am visible to them, and the way they perceive light, see things, perceive how I look, it is wonderful to think about. I can only detect light as pure waves, interpreting data of information around me from it, but being able to perceive light as a human. It must be beautiful.

From my fascination with photometry, me and Vanya spent day and night for years now studying photometry together, I was obviously smarter than a human by design. But having Vanya accompaning me throughout my journey of learning as a friend was a beatiful friendship experience that motivated me when I was down.

Hopes, Dreams and US.

US was always going to be our first choice, being the land of American dream. A country with lots of resources and researchers, and a place where I felt welcomed as an immigrant to achieve my dreams in astronomy.

From my international exams, I managed to secure Masters in Photometry from University of Illinois and move here. I am yet to find a dorm or a place to live as of now.

Living here is a lot more expensive than Slovenia though, I hope I can secure a basic job that suits my pointy arms and drilling skills while I am studying. Maybe I could live here for job in photometry related field too, I wish to be an academic, perhaps working in space agency or academic field. If I can, I would bring Vanya with me here eventually.
